With departure day looming and our suitcases still half-zipped, we carved out a quick escape to Stone Harbor—a one-day breather before the buzz of Tokyo and the tranquility of Kyoto.

It was just a day, but it gave us space to breathe and reset. Here’s how we spent it:

  • 🌊 A slow walk along the surf, letting the waves handle the heavy lifting on stress relief

  • 🎶 Jesse Rice on the playlist, singing us into a salty, sun-drenched calm (nothing says pre-Japan zen like “Pirate Sessions”)

  • 📷 A few practice shots on the beach—warming up the shutter finger before Japan’s temples and cityscapes steal the show

  • 🧘 A mental gear shift from work mode to wanderlust

  • 🥡 Casual dinner with a view, chopsticks optional (for now)

  • 🚗 Back home by sunset, already dreaming of bullet trains and vending machine coffee

Garrett and Hoss held down the home front while we recharged.

It won’t be long until wheels up!
